About Us
The Old school room Lee Bay, is a small business ran by mother and daughter duo - Louise & Daisy. What once was the village school is now home to a mix of handmade items, gifts, cards, jewellery, art supplies & more ! Louise has been running the shop for 14+ years, and more recently Daisy has become a key member to the old schoolroom - running social media accounts and admin roles .Alongside our lovely gifts we serve freshly ground coffees, aswell as a variety of snacks, cold drinks and ice creams.
In 1859 the village school was built, costing £264.13 6 1/2d. The school was then opened on Easter Tuesday and continued to run until 1939. The school mistress was paid £20, aswell as having a house provided . The school bell is an old ships bell and bears the inscription ‘ship europa Lancaster 1800’. This bell is hung above the shops main window, which can be viewed from the garden outside. The old school room is also placed next to the church, which is another fascinating historic building.
Our hours depend through the season, but we open from April through to October aswell as running some Christmas shopping days! Follow our social media for our opening hours.
